![]() Slowly but surely, we will regain our footings. I observed the other guests and there was a palpable sense of idleness, of course no one is rushing off to take a meeting, it felt like pre-pandemic life. Nestled among 258 acres of rolling vineyards and oak trees, it’s truly civilized countryside.Ī safe stay included a delicious three-hour leisurely lunch with an old friend – when was the last time you felt so comfortable? The Montage Hazel Hill terrace is lively, sunny or dappled in shade and doggy friendly. In the distance, orderly vineyards are lined up with precision, Mount St. Just outside of downtown Healdsburg, the entrance to the Montage sets the stage for the hidden valley. Vibrant rolling green hills capture your gaze, meander the country road to reach the stunning modern entrance of Montage Healdsburg. Montage Healdsburg will awaken your spirit, a positive first step back to real living, fine living!Ī refined country retreat awaits you in a bucolic valley gilded with hundreds of heritage oaks, that right now, are festooned in the finest intricate draping of pale silver Spanish Moss. Despite my few escapes over the last year, I felt a tangible sense of déjà vu, my normal life of visiting hotels, performing site inspections, meeting hoteliers and hearing their stories came alive again last week. Well, the truth is my recent ‘little thing’ was an invitation to stay and explore the newish Montage Healdsburg. Match the service to the setting and the food and it would earn a fourth star.At this pandemic point in time, it’s all about the ‘little things’- when your favorite restaurants open again for outdoor dining, when a client shares a fond memory of a Journey, or you begin to add ‘real clothes’ to your pandemic wardrobe! The road signs use the Montage logo, which is good for branding, but poor for safety or direction (on the way up we had met a car coming down on the wrong side of a bit of divided road). Apparently, there were three other cars blocking ours in. It took 15 minutes for our car to be returned to us. Having to carry our own drinks and not identifying or describing dishes are lapses that should be fixed. At that kind of price, service should be unimpeachable. Our party of 5 attracted a “large party” fixed 20% service charge.įor the 5 of us, this was a $900 evening. Our server asked the kitchen for help in doing this. We had to ask for the four cheeses on the $32 cheese board to be identified for us. Dishes were delivered to the table by runners, not our server. They were creative and really good.Īll of the food was good, some was excellent. The sommelier was very helpful with guidance to some really good ( if, again, high-priced) local wines. Some of us ordered starters and mains, others just starters. We were not rushed while we finished cocktails and looked at the menu and wine list. Our server was ever present, without being intrusive. We knew that as the restaurant is at Montage, it was bound to be expensive. The menu is very interesting with appetizers ranging from $12-$80 (this latter price was for an appetizer with shaved Alba truffles). Mixed drinks were $19.00…we had to settle our bar tab before carrying our own drinks to the restaurant (déclassé). We arranged to meet our party in the bar. We waited 10 minutes to valet our car (no self parking option). There was a line of cars to get to the front door. ![]() Restaurants with Outdoor Seating in Healdsburg.Restaurants for Special Occasions in Healdsburg.Private Dining Restaurants in Healdsburg.Mexican Restaurants for Lunch in Healdsburg.American Restaurants for Families in Healdsburg. ![]() Hotels near (STS) Sonoma County Airport.Hotels near (SMF) Sacramento Intl Airport.Hotels near Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach.Hotels near The Christopher Hill Gallery.Hotels near Healdsburg Ridge Open Space Preserve.Hotels near Healdsburg Center for the Arts.Hotels near Healdsburg museum and historical society.Hotels near Russian River Adventures (SOAR Inflatables).Healdsburg Adults Only and Adult Friendly Hotels. ![]()
